 | Tony James - President BEng(Mining), AWASM, AusIMM Operations Manager – Avoca Resources Ltd
Tony James graduated initially from WASM in 1984 with a diploma in Mining Engineering. In 1988 tony returned to WASM to complete a Bachelor of Engineering Mining Engineering. Tony is currently working as Operations Manager for Avoca Resources and was responsible for bringing the Trident underground project into production. He is a Mining Engineer with extensive operational and project experience in the mining industry and was previously General Manager, Mining for LionOre Australian Operations. Prior to this he was the Resident Manager of the Black Swan Nickel Mine near Kalgoorlie for MPI Mines. Other positions include Manager-Mining Kanowna Belle Gold Operations for Aurion Gold and Delta Gold, Mining Manager, Pillara and Cadjebut Zinc mines for Western Metals and Underground superintendent at the Telfer gold mine for Newcrest Mining Ltd.

 | Bill Beament - Vice President BEng(Mining) (Hon) Managing Director – Northern Star Resources Ltd
Bill graduated from WASM in 1997 with a
Bachelor of Engineering Mining Engineering. Bill is currently working
as Managing Director for Northern Star Resources, a public listed
exploration Company with operations in the Kimberley's Western
Australia. He is a Mining Engineer with extensive operational and
project experience in the mining industry and was previously General
Manager of Operations for Barminco Limited Western Australian Region.
Prior to this he was the Resident Manager of Eloise Copper Mine in
Queensland.

 | Mike Lovitt - Past President BEng(Mining), WASM, AusIMM, ISEE Principal Underground Blasting Specialist – Orica Mining Services
Mike Lovitt graduated from WASM in 1988
with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining), is a past president of this
Council of Graduates Association, past secretary of the AusIMM
Kalgoorlie Branch and a tertiary lecturer / tutor. Mike is currently
working around the world as a Underground Technical Explosives Expert
with Orica. His specialist knowledge and experience relates to mass and
specialty underground blasts. He developed an innovative firing
technique that establishes the draw bells needed in block cave mines.
His work on reducing powder factors established Orica's largest
emulsion supply in the Estonian Oil Shale Mines. Mike has worked as the
Underground Manager of the Fimiston Underground Complex (KCGM includes
the Golden Mile and North Kalgurli leases) and Ora Banda's Victorious
Deeps Decline (Newcrest). Mike has authored over 10 international
technical papers.

 | Clive Annear - Pre 1970 Graduates Representative Past Vice President (1972), Committee Member (1992), AWASM (Mining) Retired Mine Manager, Project Manager & Business Development Manager
Clive Annear graduated from WASM in 1958 with a Diploma (Mining), and specialised for 20 years in underground mining operations on the Golden Mile, Norseman, Rosebery (TAS) and Cobar (NSW). During this period Cobar, and Mt Charlotte introduced large scale trackless diesel equipment into Australian hard rock mines with Mt Isa. After Cobar, Clive managed Mt Charlotte during the 450,000t mass pillar blasting program & later established the Redross Nickel Mine. Clive later spent 19 years with Fluor as Manager Business Development dealing with the design and construction of such projects as the Dampier to Perth Gas Pipeline; the concentrator, refinery & smelter at Olympic Dam; and an expansion of the Cliffs Robe River Operation. In the latter period of his career, Clive provided ongoing independent consulting services for over 15 years, including a part time appointment as General Manager of the Brodie Hall Research & Consultancy Centre at WASM

 | Graham Crew - Kalgoorlie Representative BEng(Mining), WASM, AusIMM Project Manager – Silver Lake Resources Ltd
Graham Crew graduated from WASM as a
mining engineer in 1996 having entered the School as a mature age
student after several years working in the mining industry. He has
extensive underground mining and project management experience in
Australia and overseas. He has held senior operational and management
positions with Macmahon Underground, Placer Dome, Dyno Nobel, Emperor
Mines Limited, Perilya Limited and AMC Consultants. He is currently
responsible for new projects with Silver Lake Resources including the
Prefeasibility Study of the company's Murchison Assets and the
commencement of several open pit projects at Mount Monger Operations.

 | Andrew Grove - Committee Member BEng(Geology), Masters Minerals and Energy Economics, AWASM, MGSA Associate Director – Macquarie Bank Limited
Andrew Grove graduated from WASM in
1990 and completed a Masters in Mineral and Energy Economics, Macquarie
University, in 1996. Andrew is currently an Associate Director in the
Metals and Energy Capital Division (MEC) of Macquarie Bank in Perth
providing structured finance solutions and equity investment for the
mining industry. Andrew transferred to MEC from Sydney after 4.5 years
in the Bank's Risk Management Group assessing and evaluating the Bank's
global mining exposure. Prior to joining the bank Andrew had extensive
industry experience focused on technical services, resource
development, resource and reserve estimation, mine geology and
exploration in gold, base metals and uranium, including; Technical
Services Management for Areva in France, Senior Resource Geologist for
Mines and Resources Australia and development of the Sunrise Dam Gold
Mine for Acacia Resources.

 | Sabina Shugg - Committee Member BEng(Mining), AWASM, AusIMM Operations Manager – Momentum Partners
Sabina started her mining career with
PosGold at Jubilee Mine outside Kalgoorlie in 1987 where she worked in
various roles before commencing studies at WASM, initially as a part
time student time. She obtained a Mining Engineering degree from WASM
in 1993 and completed a Masters of Business Administration from the UWA
in 2008. Sabina continued her career with Normandy working at Golden
Crown, Golden Grove and then as Underground Manager at Big Bell. She
worked in the role as Manager at Mt McClure before joining Newcrest on
the feasibility study for Telfer underground. Sabina moved into
consulting with Snowden in Perth and now works with Momentum Partners
and Element CMC who specialise in business improvement, strategy,
organisational development and corporate advisory. During her career
she has worked on a broad range of mining and resource related projects
including the successful reopening and transition to owner operator of
an underground mine with significant emphasis on teams and culture.
Some more recent projects have focused on business improvement for an
established mining contractor and organisational development for a
junior miner transitioning to a mid-cap. Sabina founded and runs the
very active Women in Mining WA Network which has 1000 members across WA.

 | George Smith - Committee Member BEng(Mining), Graduate Diploma (Mineral Economics) MAusIMM Principal Mining Engineer – Barrick Australia Pacific
George Smith graduated from WASM in
1992 with a Bachelor of Engineering. In 2008, George returned to WASM
completing a Graduate Diploma in Mineral Economics, and is continuing
studies with a Masters in Mineral Economics. He is currently working as
a mining engineer within the Technical Services group of Barrick
Australia Pacific. His career has spanned extensive operational and
technical roles, working for a mining contractor, junior and major
mining houses and mine consultants.

 | Lloyd McAuley - Committee Member BEng(Mining), AWASM, AusIMM Superintendent of Planning and Business Improvement - MGM, Golden Grove
Lloyd McAuley received his Bachelor in
Mining Engineering from WASM in 1994. From that time Lloyd has worked
exclusively in Australian underground operations at Kambalda,
Southerncross, Bendigo, Cobar, Broken Hill, Leinster and now is at
Golden Grove with MMG as the Superintendent of Planning and Business
Improvement.

 | Peter George - Committee Member BEng(Mining), Grad Certificate Minerals Economics, AWASM Managing Director - Rapallo; Director - Rock Team
Peter George received his Bachelor in
Mining Engineering from WASM in 1996after spending an exchange year
studying at the Lulea University of Technology in 1995 and in 2005
received his Graduate Certificate in Minerals Economics also from WASM.
Peter is currently the Managing Director and Principal Mining Engineer
for Rapallo as well as being a Director for a new underground contract
mining venture - Rock Team. He is a Mining Engineer with extensive mine
management, mine planning and consulting experience in Sweden and
Australia as well as having consulted on projects in several other
countries for major international companies as well as junior explorers.
